Villanelle and Eve's game of cat and mouse is about to meet its literary conclusion.
The Killing Eve novels by author Luke Jennings are set to come to their end with third volume Endgame, which will be released on March 19, 2020, as confirmed by Amazon.
The previous instalments - Codename Villanelle and No Tomorrow - have formed the basis of the hit BBC television series by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer.
As the second season of the television adaptation has come to a close, with a third on the way next year, the final book teases some potential plot lines for the show to follow.
The official discription for the book reads: "As Villanelle returns to face her childhood demons and the Russian winter, Eve finds herself on the run from The Twelve, who want her dead. As the action moves between London and St Petersburg, and Eve and Villanelle finally admit their mutual erotic obsession, the chess game approaches its lethal, unforgettable conclusion."
Yikes, so not only are we about to delve more into Villanelle's past, but also the battle against shadowy organisation The Twelve.
Most importantly, the end of the antics between Eve Polastri and Villanelle will be what concerns fans most.
Also, Avengers Endgame move over, we're here for this new book title.
So with season 3 to arrive in 2020 too, does this mean the show will end with the third run too?
It's not looking likely.

There are currently no plans for the television series to end with Suzanne Heathcote being brought on as the lead writer for season 3, following in the footsteps of season 1's Phoebe Waller-Bridge and season 2's Emerald Fennell.
Earlier this year, president of entertainment networks for AMC Sarah Barnett discussed the renewal.
Barnett said (via Variety ): "We love having this show and the brilliant Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer and Fiona Shaw on our networks Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Emerald Fennell have delivered two addictively entertaining seasons.
"As we did last year, we’re renewing Killing Eve right out of the gate, now with Suzanne Heathcote as lead writer, as a sign of confidence – we adore this show as much as our fans do. ‘Killing Eve’ doesn't do anything in a templated way; we love giving opportunity to three genius women to make their mark."
So, don't grieve the show - not yet anyway.
The third season does look set to delve into Villanelle's family history more, though, which is one of the we have for season 3.
Killing Eve: Endgame is released on March 19, 2020.
Killing Eve season 3 will air in Spring 2020.
