Will Fardeen Khan and Riteish Deshmukh starrer ‘Visfot’ premiere directly on OTT? Here’s what producer Sanjay Gupta has to say!

Fardeen Khan announced last year that he would make his film debut in Sanjay Gupta's 'Visfot,' co-starring Riteish Deshmukh. According to reports, the film may forego a theatrical release in favour of a direct-to-OTT release.

In an interaction with a news portal, Sanjay Gupta confirmed that ‘Visfot’ will skip a theatrical release and premiere directly on OTT in 2023 due to unfavourable box office conditions. The film is an official remake of the 2012 Venezuelan film, ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’.

Riteish will reportedly essay the role of a pilot in the film, whose son gets kidnapped by Fardeen’s character. Besides Fardeen Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, the film also stars Priya Bapat, Krystle D'Souza, Seema Bapat, and Sheeba Chadha. Along with Sanjay Gupta, Bhushan Kumar also backed this film.

Fardeen had earlier spoken to ETimes about people’s reactions to his plans to come back into films. He said, "Even though I was meeting fewer people due to the pandemic, I met Sanjay Gupta, Mudassar Aziz, Sajid Nadiadwala and many of my colleagues and friends with whom I had worked previously. I let them know that I am back, transformed, eager and committed to getting back to cinema. A lot of people thought I was not living here at all. Everyone I met was warm and welcoming, no upfront promises to work together, but a reassurance that we would team up for sure soon. This industry is where I belong, and I was always going to come back to work in some form. You need the courage to make a fresh start. It’s daunting, and I feel like an intern again."

‘Visfot’ will be directed by Kookie Gulati and produced by Sanjay Gupta.
