Arsenal's record transfer for Nicolas Pepe has brought about some interesting reactions across the football world.
After a few days of rumours and teases, the Gunners finally announced their fourth signing of the summer window on Thursday afternoon as the Ivory Coast international joins for a reported £72m fee.
Despite the club's interest in Pepe being known for a few months, this deal did somewhat come out of the blue.
Although, the 24-year-old insists he's made the right choice amid links to Napoli, Manchester United, Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
"It was my family and my agents," he told Arsenal.com. "We talked and thought a lot about it. It was at the time of the CAN [Africa Cup of Nations] as well, we thought a lot during, before and after the CAN.
"It was important to make the right decision and I am convinced that Arsenal is the right choice."
But whilst one Ivorian has made the switch to the Emirates Stadium, one seems to have been denied his dream move.
Wilfried Zaha to Arsenal was the big transfer rumour up until last week with the north London outfit already having a £40m bid rejected by Crystal Palace earlier in the summer.
However, judging by the 26-year-old' s social media activity he's happy for his compatriot.
There's been talk of the Gunners still being interested in Zaha ahead of deadline day, so could the pair be international as well as club teammates come next Thursday?
That would seem unlikely as the Eagles are said to be holding out for £80m.
Another reason for Palace demanding such a high transfer fee for Zaha is because they have to pay Manchester United a percentage if the winger is sold.
The Red Devils inserted a 25% sell-on clause into his contract upon rejoining the Eagles permanently in 2015.
