Wigan Warriors forward has car burgled - outside the club's stadium

Wigan Warriors forward Joe Shorrocks had his car broken into - outside the DW Stadium.

Shorrocks, who played in the Warriors' defeat to Hull KR on Friday, suffered a concussion and therefore couldn't drive home following the game.

When he returned to collect his car in the morning, he arrived to find his vehicle vandalised and all of his golf equipment stolen from the back of the car.

According to Ellie Costello, who posted a picture of the damage on Instagram, a brick had been thrown through the back window and all of his golf clubs stolen.

"Joe couldn’t drive home from his game last night due to his injury on the field and concussion assessment," Costello posted on Instagram.

"He therefore had to leave his car overnight in the club car park. We came back this morning at 7.30 to collect it, only to find his window smashed through with a brick; his golf clubs / bag, club wear, were all stolen.

"Opportunist scumbags."

The post has been shared by a number of Shorrocks' team-mates.
