The long-awaited trailer for Wicked: For Good has been released, giving fans a glimpse at what to expect during part two of the musical movie.
Wicked was one of the most talked about films of the year, and it looks like part two is set to pick up exactly where it left off. The trailer shows Elphaba in a new all-black look, showing her transformation as she wields control of her forceful powers and vows to go after the wizard.
It seems Elphaba and Glinda are still close; in the trailer they can be seen holding hands, with Glinda at one point warning her green friend that “they’re coming for you,” before the scene switches to an angry mob wielding fire.
Jonathan Bailey returns as Prince Fiyero, and a wedding clip between him and Glinda is teased. In part two he is head of the army, and tasked with finding Elphaba.
Later in the trailer we see a showdown between Fiyero, Elphaba and the Wizard, where Fiyero is pointing a gun at Elphaba before then turning the barrel on the Wizard.
Elphaba, clearly relieved, says “I thought you had changed then”, to which he replies “I have changed”.
Fans were also treated to a ‘For Good’ poster this week, alongside a new video showing our favourite characters in the lead up to the trailer released today (Thursday June 5).
The clip shows Elphaba’s transformation followed by glimpses of Jonathan Bailey's character Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible and Jeff Goldblum's character The Wizard.
Marissa Bode who plays Elphaba's sister Nessarose Thropp appears on the screen and the clip ends on Ariana Grande as Glinda, who waves her wand and the film title appears.
Wicked: For Good is set to appear in UK cinemas on November 21, so fans still have a few months to go to watch the second part.
'For Good' is one of many musical numbers fans can look forward to in Part Two, with other anticipated soundtrack songs including 'No Good Dead', 'As Long As You're Mine' and the reprise of 'I'm Not That Girl'.
