Why there was disruption on major Nottingham road with emergency services at scene for two hours

A section of a road in the city centre was closed last night after emergency services were called to the scene.

Nottinghamshire Police were called on Maid Marian Way on Friday night (December 3) over concerns for the welfare of a woman.

Walkers-by have reported disruption on the main road nearby the car-park as the incident was underway.

Emergency services were also in attendance just before 10.30pm.

Two appliances from London Road Fire Station arrived at 10.26pm but did not intervene, a spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has said.

The last appliance left at 00.28am.

The situation was resolved later in the evening and nobody was hurt, according to Nottinghamshire Police.
