Why social media platforms are being accused of fuelling riots in France

Social media companies like TikTok, Snapchat or Twitter are once again under scrutiny, with many French decision makers saying the platforms are helping fuel widespread riots across France. French President Emmanuel Macron has accused social platforms of encouraging so-called copycat acts of violence in reaction to the fatal police shooting of 17-year-old Nahel on Tuesday. But how do social media firms detect and moderate content that incites violence? FRANCE 24's Science Editor Julia Sieger tells us more.
