- Lionel Messi and the Inter Miami CF team met with President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday to celebrate winning the 2025 MLS Cup.
- In what was a close game, Inter Miami star player Messi’s stunning free-kick against Porto was the difference, ending the score 2-1.
- Alex Rodriguez was in attendance, along with some of Trump’s staffers, Marco Rubio and Pam Bondi.
- Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham did not fly with the team and wasn’t seen at the event. The club traveled to Washington D.C. ahead of their match against D.C. United in Baltimore on Saturday.
- Trump commented on the men’s appearances, “These are good-looking people. Marco [Rubio], I dont like good-looking men, you don’t feel so good about yourself standing up here. Good-looking people.”
