Celtic's official squad for their upcoming Europa League fixtures was named last night.
Brendan Rodgers omitted four summer signings in Hayato Inamura, Shin Yamada, Callum Osmand, and Jahmai Simpson-Pusey.
Clubs can include a maximum of 25 players in their squads, but Celtic have only 24 in theirs.
Why does Celtic's UEL squad have 24 players and not 25?

In Celtic's squad, there are seven homegrown players - Ross Doohan, Dane Murray, Kieran Tierney, Anthony Ralston, James Forrest, Callum McGregor, and Luke McCowan - and 17 foreign players already.
While including another homegrown player, such as Colby Donovan, would bring the tally to eight and the squad total to 25, there is no real point, as he is already eligible to play through the B-list.
