Why Broncos fans should be excited about Dalton Risner

The Denver Broncos selected Kansas State offensive lineman Dalton Risner with the 41st overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Risner, who stands at six-foot-five and weighs 312 pounds, plays with a physical and nasty edge. He is a technically sound blocker who plays with good hand placement and a powerful punch upon contact. He has great anchor strength in his frame and plays with his weight underneath him regularly.

His skill set makes him a fit at right tackle, center, or either guard spot. While not a fantastic athlete, he has the technique and strength of a long-term starter at four of the five offensive line positions.

The Broncos have 2017 first-round pick and recent free agent signing Garett Bolles and Ja’Wuan James at their offensive tackle spots, so they likely see Risner as a guard. He has the ability to step in right away and make an impact up front.
