Why Arsenal had Emirates Stadium clock in Fulham away dressing room as Mikel Arteta plan emerges

Arsenal secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Fulham on Sunday afternoon, restoring their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table in the process.

It was the 11th time that the north Londoners have won an away game in the league this season, a hugely impressive feat when you consider the fact that they have played just 14 times away from the Emirates Stadium this term. After the full-time whistle, Mikel Arteta and co were seen pictured in the Craven Cottage dressing room alongside the replica of their legendary clock that sits above the Clock End at the Emirates Stadium.

According to The Daily Mail, this gesture is an aspect of an imaginative plan from the club to try and make the dressing room in away matches similar to the Emirates. The wall was also donned with posters of Arsenal badges as well as the official squad picture, a tactic that clearly worked considering how dominant the Gunners were on the day.

Speaking after the match, Arteta made it no secret how pleased he was with his side's performance in west London. "Really happy, it’s a really tough place to come against a well-organised team," the Spaniard said when quizzed on the victory.

"I think we dominated the game, we created so many chances, we kept a clean sheet – which was really important. And we won the game in a convincing way so I’m very happy."
