Why a performance of SIX was suddenly halted at Swansea Arena and the lights went up

A performance of SIX, the pop concert-musical that retells the stories of the six wives of Henry VIII, was forced to take an unscripted pause during its run at Swansea Arena last night, after a member of the audience had a medical emergency. Staff at Swansea Arena have confirmed Thursday evening's performance of the smash hit British musical comedy was stopped for around five minutes, whilst medics attended a member of the audience who fell ill.

Fortunately, staff have since confirmed the person who fell ill is "fine" now and went home safely. They've praised other audience members for their patience whilst the show was halted, and have thanked the medics and doctors who rushed over and offered their help. An initial statement on social media explained: "At tonight's [Thursday] performance a medical emergency occurred which resulted in us stopping the show for approximately five minutes - we are happy to report that the individual is absolutely fine and hopefully now safely at home being looked after!

"A big thank you to our lovely staff from Safestyle Security for responding so quickly, to the gorgeous cast of Six who allowed us to lift the lights, and to the many doctors and medical professionals who offered to help

"Unfortunately we were unable to take the details of the first doctor on scene who assisted and missed a chunk of the show - if anyone knows who he was, or if it was you, please message us so we can thank you properly! And thank you to our audience for being so patient and understanding - we hope you still loved the Queens."

A spokesperson for Swansea Arena later confirmed the person who experienced the medical emergency was a member of the audience, not a cast member. "We would like to thank our security team, the medical professionals in attendance who offered help, the cast, crew and audience who were patient and understanding whilst the member of our audience was cared for," the spokesperson added.

If you haven't seen SIX yet, you can catch it at Swansea Arena this evening (Friday, October 21) at 6pm or 8.30pm and on Saturday, October 22 at 4pm or 8pm.

If you were the doctor who assisted the audience member with their medical emergency last night and consequently missed the majority of the show - do get in touch with Swansea Arena, who would like to thank you for your selflessness.
