Whoopi Goldberg is set to make her long-awaited return to the UK stage this autumn with two live shows, marking her first performances on these shores in a decade.
The 69-year-old American star, whose career spans more than 40 years across film, television and theatre, will appear at the Eventim Apollo in London’s Hammersmith on September 4, followed by Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on September 5.
Titled Whoopi Goldberg: Live, the shows will see the iconic performer in conversation, reflecting on her life, career and the experiences that have shaped her both personally and professionally.
Each evening will also feature a Q&A segment, giving audiences the chance to engage with Goldberg in a relaxed and personal setting, making it a rare opportunity to hear directly from the star herself.
“I’ve always loved performing for UK audiences,” Goldberg said in a press release. “I can’t wait to take the stage at these two incredible venues and share some stories, some laughs, and maybe even a little truth.”

Goldberg — whose real name is Caryn Elaine Johnson — originally shot to fame in the 1980s with her acclaimed one-woman Broadway show and a breakout role in The Colour Purple, which earned her critical acclaim and several award nominations.
She then went on to star in major box office hits including Ghost, for which she won an Academy Award, and the beloved Sister Act films, which remain fan favourites worldwide.
Goldberg is one of a select group of performers to have achieved EGOT status, winning all four of the major US entertainment awards: an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
In more recent years, she has become a familiar face to American television audiences as a longtime co-host of the daytime talk show The View, where she is known for her candid and often outspoken takes on politics, culture and social issues.
Beyond performing, Goldberg is also an author, producer and activist, who has tackled everything from race discrimination and reproductive rights to homelessness and HIV/AIDS awareness over the course of her varied career.
