Who Wants to be a Millionaire audience loses contestant £93,000

A contestant on Who Wants to be a Millionaire was left heartbroken tonight after he lost a huge amount of cash.

Olly was storming through the questions, in the repeat episode, only stumbling slightly on a question about horses, which his mum as a phone a friend helped him get through.

Olly set his safety net at £32,000 and managed to get through to the £125,000 question where he came unstuck.

The question before him was "3 May Bistritz. Left Munich at 8:35pm" are the opening words to which novel?

Olly was unsure and used his 50/50 to get it down to two answers, either Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy or Dracula.

He assumed it was Tinker Tailor, but to give him that extra bit of confidence he asked the audience.

A staggering 81% of the audience thought it was Tinker Tailor and so Olly went for it.

But it was the wrong answer and he ended up losing £93,000.

And viewers at home couldn't believe what had happened.

Munraj Pal said: "The audience have jagged him, 81% cheers, say bye bye to 125 large ."

Emmy Coppen said: "Wow. Audience on # whowantstobeamillionaire did the dirty on him there. Making him lose out on £93,000. I’d be fuming."

Alex Clowes said: "Thickest audience ever # whowantstobeamillionaire I’d be raging, 81% got it wrong."

And Penev said: "That is horrific, shafted by 81% of the audience, what a kick in the guts."

Host Jeremy Clarkson said he would have also gone for Tinker, Tailor, and said how sorry he was for Olly.
