Apart from, well, tacos, Taco Bell is best known for Baja Blast: a tropical lime-flavoured Mountain Dew variant.
The exclusive seasonal drink is the highlight of many people’s summer, but has this Baja Blast product gone too far?
TikToker and Taco Bell worker @5starproductionco thinks so. In the 10-second clip, which has amassed 3.9 million views, the TikTok user filmed behind the Taco Bell counter. He noted via the on-screen text that he was about to clock out. However, he was stopped in his tracks after discovering a sign promoting Mountain Dew Baja Blast Pie.
Viewers are surprised
According to the sign, the pie, which has a bright green filling, is for sale for a limited time. It costs $19.99.
“The world must be ending,” the worker added. A second caption flashed on the screen reading, “God help us all.”
In response to this, one commenter wrote, “The idea of a Baja Blast pie makes me wanna puke.”
“You’re not supposed to show the new item yet,” another added. “RIP to your job.”
While a third opined, “Unpopular opinion, but Baja Blast is not good enough to warrant so many spinoff items.”
A fellow Taco Bell worker commented, “Dude, I saw that at work and was like, ‘Who on earth is gonna buy that?'”
A fifth joked that “America is such a failure in healthy habits,” while a sixth quipped, “Hide that [expletive] ain’t nobody need that.”

Is the Mountain Dew Baja Blast Pie new?
While this Taco Bell worker has come across the product for the first time, the pie was actually launched in November 2024.
It was first announced in February 2024 at its “Live Más LIVE” event, and according to food account @alwayslivingmas, the pie includes a graham cracker crust, Baja Blast-flavored custard and a whipped cream topping.
A reviewer on The Daily Meal described the pie as the pie was “everything [they] hoped it would be.”
“The soda has been turned into a dense, buttery curd, full of that wonderful sweet-tart flavor we expect,” they wrote. “The texture was smooth as silk, and the dollops of whipped cream and lime zest covering the top cut the sweetness while making the dessert even more luscious.”
However, the product was seasonal. But the good news is, it is indeed coming back to Taco Bell.
According to the food account @snackolater, the product should arrive again around Thanksgiving time.
The Mary Sue reached out to the creator via TikTok comment and to Taco Bell via email.
