Nigeria will discover on Wednesday who they will face in the Unity Cup final after they breezed past Zimbabwe in the semi-final.
The Super Eagles made the ideal start to the mini summer friendly tournament as they faced the Warriors at The Valley, in south-east London on Tuesday evening.
Millwall forward Femi Azeez, on his senior international debut, scored the opener after just five minutes. But with Nigeria spurning a few golden chances to extend their lead before half-time, it set up a tense second half.
Zimbabwe sensed the opportunity and threatened an equaliser on more than one occasion and also had a strong penalty shout turned down.
Ultimately, their resistance was broken as Azeez then struck again just after the hour mark his Nigeria debut in style and book the Super Eagles’ place in the 2026 Unity Cup final.
Furthermore, the win leaves Eric Chelle’s side just one win away from claiming the Unity Cup for a fourth time in a row, and second since the tournament returned following a two-decade absence.
Nigeria will come up against either India or Jamaica in Saturday's final, with second semi-final taking place on Wednesday evening.

Earlier this week, The Unity Cup was officially confirmed as a FIFA Tier 1 event, marking a major milestone for the tournament and reinforcing its growing international profile.
Following the final, Nigeria have two more international friendlies lined up, against Poland and Portugal prior to the start of this summer’s World Cup in North America.
Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi, Ademola Lookman and Calvin Bassey are among the Nigeria players who have not been selected for Unity Cup duty, but will feature in the aforementioned friendlies next month.
