MasterChef Australia has officially reached a boiling point with two home cooks battling it out for the highly sought-after title, bragging rights and major moolah! Here’s who won MasterChef Australia 2026.

After weeks upon weeks of mystery boxes, pressure tests and elimination challenges, two up-and-coming culinary kings, Petro Papathomas and Vinnie Gibaldi, will be fighting for the top dog spot on MasterChef Australia 2026.
This year’s finale began with a Mystery Box challenge, in which our top two created a dish within 75 minutes with superstar ingredients.
Finally, the big shebang, our final two were guided by superstar pastry chef Cherish Finden. The two cooks were tasked with recreating her intricate Chinese Afternoon Tea with only five hours on the clock.
So, to keep you updated on the night of nights for Aussie MasterChef fans, here’s who won!
Who is the MasterChef Australia 2026 winner?
This year’s MasterChef Australia 2026 winner is…. VINNIE.
Despite a finale fail with an undercooked duck in the first, Vinnie led the night with a total of 37 points, with Petro following behind with 32 points.
In the final round, both of our cooks faced challenges. But after five gruelling hours, the pair managed to dish up their version of Finden’s Chinese Afternoon Tea.
Petro was the first to be scored, copping sevens across the board. As a result, he got a final score of 67.
Vinnie smashed it out of the park, with Finden stating that his mandarin mousse is the same as hers. In the end, Vinnie won the comp, scoring an 80!!
What does the MasterChef Australia winner get?
The winner of MasterChef Australia 2026 will cop $250,000 in prize money, bragging rights for a year (or a lifetime, IMO), and MasterChef Australia status.
Although he didn’t win the comp, Petro also walked away with $40K, and Aaron, who placed third, copped $10K.
