Who is Rivaldo in Soccer Aid 2021?

With the annual Soccer Aid charity event soon to be underway, there may be many people on the line-up you may not be familiar with.

From ex-football professionals, singers, artists, and many more making taking to the pitch, it can be hard to keep up with everyone.

One thing that unites all these participants is their love for football and playing for a charitable cause, which for Soccer Aid is Unicef.

Among them is Rivaldo, a household name in the football hall of fame, but who actually is he?

Rivaldo Vítor Borba Ferreira, better known as just Rivaldo, is a former professional Brazillian football player.

Often considered one of the best players of his generation, Rivaldo previously played for some big clubs including Barcelona and has represented his country of Brazil at the World Cup on multiple occasions.

Rivaldo, 49, is renowned for his skilful play style which has earned him the renown of an unstoppable player.

The big game takes place on Saturday night and will air on ITV live from the Etihad Stadium with hosts Dermot O'Leary, Alex Scott and Maya Jama.

This year's charity efforts will also focus on the global impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Donations will help Unicef deliver two billion vaccines for frontline health workers and teachers worldwide.

This year, every donation to Soccer Aid for UNICEF – up to £6.3million, until November 30 – is being matched by the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, helping to support the health and nutrition of children around the world.
