Who is Count Binface? Odds slashed on comedian beating Farage in Clacton

  • Nigel Farage has called a by-election in his Clacton constituency, claiming an "establishment stitch-up" after facing scrutiny over a £5m donation and gifts from a convicted criminal.
  • Major political parties, including the Conservatives, Labour , Liberal Democrats and Greens, have all refused to field candidates in the by-election, labelling it as "fake" or a "desperate political stunt."
  • This refusal has significantly boosted the odds for joke candidate Count Binface , who is now considered the second favourite at 9/2 to win against Farage who remains the 1/7 favourite.
  • Count Binface, a comedian known for wearing a bin on his head, has gained attention for his unconventional pledges, such as conscripting individuals who play loud music on public transport.
  • Reform UK 's Zia Yusuf criticised the other parties for their coordinated refusal to stand, accusing them of attempting to "make a mockery of democracy" and highlighting what he perceives as an "extraordinary level of coordination."
