Actress Claire Sweeney is among those grieving the death of former world boxing champion Ricky Hatton, who passed away aged 46 at his home in Hyde, Greater Manchester. Hatton's demise was confirmed by Greater Manchester Police early on Sunday. Officers stated there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. His record as 'The Hitman' remains formidable: in a 15-year professional career from 1997 to 2012, he won 45 of 48 bouts and held multiple world titles in the light-welterweight and welterweight divisions.
Sweeney, now best known for her role in Coronation Street and for celebrity TV appearances, had been friends with Hatton for around 25 years before their romantic relationship.
