Who Is Akshay Bhatia's Caddie?

Akshay Bhatia and Joe Greiner .

Akshay Bhatia turned professional at the age of 17 after opting to skip college and pursue his dream. Since then, the left-hander has enjoyed a stratospheric rise up to the top level, working his way up through the Korn Ferry Tour and onto the PGA Tour.

Throughout that time, he has worked with a number of caddies, one of whom was his girlfriend.

Having met Presleigh Schultz shortly before the Valero Texas Open in 2021, Bhatia later asked his partner to become his caddie (before proposing an even bigger question in 2023). She said yes (to both, actually) and the pair set about forging their way on the PGA Tour for almost two years.

In 2023, Schultz chose to support her man from outside of the ropes as Bhatia brought Brian Dilley on board. The professional success there was almost instantaneous, with the California-born star clinching the Barracuda Championship in July for his first PGA Tour title and amassing nearly $2.5 million in career prize money by the end of the year.

Dilley, an experienced caddie who has worked with the likes of Suzann Pettersen and Billy Horschel on the LPGA Tour and PGA Tour, respectively, helped Bhatia until the early part of 2024.

According to Golfweek, Dilley, who is friends with Jon Rahm's caddie, Adam Hayes, then departed the PGA Tour entirely to link up with Caleb Surratt in the LIV Golf League.

That left Bhatia with an open position, which was filled by Justin Suh's former looper, Ryan Jamison, between the end of the Valspar Championship and the start of the Texas Children's Houston Open.

In fact, whilst together, the pair won that Houston Open event, with Bhatia claiming a second PGA Tour title and a $1.6 million payday.

After the pair split, Bhatia turned to John Limanti, a caddie with years of experience who has reportedly worked for the likes of Adam Scott, Chris Stroud, Brendon Todd, Chris Kirk, Keith Mitchell and many more.

That arrangement lasted until late 2025, but, as first reported by Golfweek, in December, Bhatia turned to Joe Greiner as his full-time caddie.

After a playing career spanning years competing on mini tours, Greiner began caddying for childhood friend Max Homa in his maiden PGA Tour season in 2013.

However, his first win as a caddie came alongside Kevin Chappell at the 2017 Valero Texas Open.

Nevertheless, it was with Homa that Greiner would really make his name. He was back alongside him in 2019, the beginning of a hugely successful spell spanning six years and the same number of PGA Tour wins.

Greiner also helped Homa win the Nedbank Golf Challenge on the DP World Tour as well as making the 2023 USA Ryder Cup team.

A prolonged slump in form saw Homa reluctantly part ways with Greiner in 2025. While Homa turned to Bill Harke, Greiner soon found employment when he teamed up with Justin Thomas at the RBC Heritage on a temporary basis.

It couldn't have gone any better, with Thomas picking up his first win since the 2022 PGA Championship.

Soon after, Thomas confirmed he wouldn't be replacing regular caddie, Matt Minister, with Greiner, but once again, his services were soon in demand.

Next, Greiner began caddying for Collin Morikawa, who had recently parted ways with JJ Jakovac, but again, the partnership didn't last long, with the two-time Major winner splitting with him after just five tournaments.

By September, Greiner was working with Jake Knapp, but his nomadic year continued with the partnership also not lasting long before Akshay Bhatia came calling, with Greiner becoming the American's full-time caddie ahead of the Hero World Challenge.

It didn't take long for the pair to see results, with Bhatia placing T3 at the WM Phoenix Open in February 2026. One week later, with Greiner's help, he opened up a commanding lead in the third round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am as he closed in on his third PGA Tour title.
