Police have launched an investigation after they earlier raced to Curle Street, shortly before 2pm, in response to reports of an assault.

The 29-year-old man is currently being treated at Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, as officers appeal for information.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed to Glasgow Live: "We were called around 1.50pm on Wednesday, 20 May, to a report of a man being assaulted in the Curle Street area of Glasgow. A 29-year old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow by the Scottish Ambulance Service with a serious back injury.
