Whitchurch Lane crash: Woman, in 30s, dies after collision with lorry

A woman has died after a crash in south Bristol this morning (November 16). Emergency services were called to Whitchurch Lane, in Hengrove, at 8.05am following reports of a serious collision involving a cyclist and a lorry at the junction with The Boulevard.

The cyclist, in her 30s, sadly died at the scene. Her family are being supported by a specially trained officer.

The road has been closed from the roundabout with Hawkfield Way to the junction with Bamfield. Diversions have been put in place for motorists who have been warned of delays.

The closure has caused disruption for drivers trying to reach South Bristol Hospital. The police say a diversion is in place through The Bottle Yard Studios.

Investigating officers from Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for information on the collision. They are urging anyone who saw what happened to contact 101 and quote reference number 5222275628.
