Which Jaguars will sit out against the Dolphins?

The Jacksonville Jaguars had several players return to practice this week, including right tackle Jawaan Taylor and left guard Andrew Norwell, who will potentially give the team their complete starting offensive line Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins. However, nine players missed practice throughout the week, and coach Doug Marrone ruled them all out relatively early in the week.

Of course, the biggest name on the list is receiver Marqise Lee, who is actually healthy now but was ruled out because he was just cleared off the physically unable to perform list Monday. As most are aware, he was in the process of rehabbing his knee after receiving a gruesome injury a year ago against the Atlanta Falcons.

Tailback Alfred Blue exited Week 2’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles with an ankle sprain, so his listing was expected, too. He was in the process of carrying the ball up the gut last Thursday when defensive lineman Vinny Curry made a tackle on him and landed on the veteran’s ankle while bringing him down.

The other notables on the list include the Jags’ two third-round picks of 2019 in linebacker Quincy Williams (meniscus) and tight end Josh Oliver (hamstring), who are expected to be ready for the regular season.

Oliver sustained his injury in the early stages of training camp and Marrone later labeled it as a “significant” injury not too soon after. Williams, on the other hand, had a minor procedure to fix a meniscus tear before the preseason began. Both have been practicing on the side this week which is an encouraging sign because the team will need both players to enter the regular season.
