Where will Eurovision 2021 be held next year? Song Contest scrapped due to coronavirus

Hearts broke across the world in March when it was announced that the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest had been postponed due to coronavirus.

The annual event has delighted audiences worldwide for the past 64 years and Eurovision 2020 will still get plenty of recognition with the BBC's Eurovision night including Europe Shine A Light which will see all of the acts get a chance to impress, without the dreaded voting!

This year's contest was due to take place in Rotterdam after Duncan Laurence won for the Netherlands last year with his song Arcade and people from all over the world were set to descend on the city before it was confirmed the global coronavirus pandemic had forced it to be scrapped.

A statement from the organisers read: "We are very proud that the Eurovision Song Contest has united audiences every year, without interruption, for the past 64 years and we, like the millions of you around the world, are extremely saddened that it can not take place in May."

Where will Eurovision 2021 take place?

According to Eurovision fan site Eurovision World, it looks like it could be Rotterdam again.

They write: "The European Broadcasting Union, EBU and the Dutch broadcasters NPO, NOS and AVROTROS are continuing their talks with the City of Rotterdam to see if it's possible to stage Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam."

The site also adds that some of the Dutch hosts of this year's content have already changed their Instagram bios to list themselves as hosts for next year.
