Fans of film noir listen up, Spider-Noir has landed on Amazon’s streaming service, Prime, with the option to watch the elegant thriller in black and white.
From creator Oren Uziel, the live-action series is based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir and set in an alternate universe within the Sony's Spider-Man Universe franchise. It follows Ben Reilly, played by Nicolas Cage,who is a weathered private investigator in 1930s New York. He’s had a simple life dealing with simple cases until mobsters, monsters and a femme fatale spin him back to his former life as the city’s only superhero: The Spider.
Alongside Nicolas Cage, Lamorne Morris stars as Robbie Robertson, Li Jun Li as Cat Hardy, Karen Rodriguez as Janet Ruiz and Abraham Popoola as Lonnie Lincoln.
The action has been hailed as a fresh addition to the superhero landscape with critics praising its drama and performances. For those wanting to enhance the watching experience, viewers can even opt to watch the series in black and white, transporting you back to the 1930s.
