How to watch Glastonbury 2023 live: BBC announces coverage plans

The BBC has announced details of its coverage for Glastonbury 2023, following the recent announcement of the full line-up and set times.

Elton John will close the Pyramid Stage with his final UK show, while the festival will also be headlined by Arctic Monkeys and Guns N’ Roses.

The BBC has a long association with Glastonbury and this year the presenters are set to be Lauren Laverne, Jo Wiley, Clara Amfo, and Jack Saunders.

Here’s what to expect from this year’s festival and where to watch the acts.

The festival will be held at Worthy Farm from June 21 to 25. Friday (June 23) to Sunday are considered to be the festival’s summit and will be when the biggest stars perform.

Arctic Monkeys will headline Friday night, on the back of their UK tour, Guns N’ Roses will headline Saturday, and Sir Elton will bring down the curtain on Sunday.

The BBC will be broadcasting more than 40 hours of TV coverage and 85 hours of radio over the long weekend — while the Glastonbury: 50 Years & Counting documentary will be re-aired after being shown last year.

Festival co-organiser Emily Eavis said: “We’ve worked in partnership with the BBC since 1997, and they’ve become an incredibly valuable part of what we do at Glastonbury.

“I think we’ve created something really special together and we’re delighted that they’re continuing to evolve their coverage, with additions such as streaming Pyramid Stage performances live in British Sign Language.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming them to the farm in June and here’s to many more Glastonburys together.”

Who is on the lineup?

As well as the headliners, attendees can enjoy Royal Blood — in their festival return after the Big Weekend fiasco — as well as Lana Del Rey, Lizzo, Wizkid, Hot Chip, Fred again.., Lil Nas X, Blondie, Lewis Capaldi, and Phoenix.

Then there are The Churnups, a completely unknown outfit that has a plum slot on the Pyramid Stage on Friday evening. The mystery has led to speculation as to whether the band might be a well-known group performing under a different name.
