Where to watch all the Home Alone movies, just in time for Christmas

With Christmas fast approaching, it's time to rewatch some festive family film classics such as the Home Alone movies to get in the mood.

Kevin McCallister, a mischievous eight-year-old, is the main character of the franchise. In the first film, his family travels to Paris for the Christmas holidays and Kevin is unintentionally left behind at home in Chicago.

Although he enjoys having the house to himself, he quickly learns that he must protect it from two determined intruders.

Home Alone's potential Christmas TV appearance remains to be seen, given that most British broadcasters have not yet announced their schedules.

In the meantime, here's where you can watch the Home Alone movies in the UK.

Where can I watch the Home Alone movies?

Disney+

Home Alone 1 and 2 are available to watch on Disney+. Subscriptions for the American streaming service start from £4.99 a month in the UK.

Amazon Prime Video

You can rent Home Alone 1 for £3.49 and Home Alone 2 and 3 free of charge with a seven-day trial with STARZ.

How many Home Alone movies are there?

There have been six Home Alone movies in total.

There were two Home Alone films (1990 and 1992) starring Macaulay Culkin and a third featuring Alex D. Linz (1997).

Home Alone 3 featured a brand-new young protagonist named Alex Pruitt (Linz). He had to fight off four burglars employed by a terrorist organisation in North Korea while suffering from chickenpox.

Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House (2002) was a made-for-television movie that does not feature Culkin. Mike Weinberg plays McCallister in this installment.

Home Alone: The Holiday Heist (2012) was another made-for-television movie with a new cast and storyline. Christian Martyn plays the main character, Finn Baxter.

Archie Yates starred in Home Sweet Home Alone, a Disney+ spin-off, in 2021. The plot is again very similar to the previous films.

Yates plays Max Mercer, a young boy who is left behind when his family goes on holiday to Japan. He eventually gets involved in a lot of drama when a married couple thinks he has stolen a priceless doll from their house.
