Where can you travel to without a Covid vaccine or test?

From Friday, all remaining travel rules and restrictions in the UK will end - meaning people arriving here will not have to fill in a locator form or take a Covid test. But each country around the world has its own rules, meaning for most you still need to provide negative tests, contact details or prove you are vaccinated.

But there are a handful of places around the world where you can travel freely regardless of whether or not you are vaccinated or tested. Travel company Kayak has put together a complete guide to different rules around the world.

The list of countries you could travel to without a jab or test - in most circumstances - includes:

  • Mexico
  • Costa Rice
  • Ireland
  • Iceland
  • Norway
  • Denmark
  • Lithuania
  • Romania
  • Hungary
  • Slovenia
  • Jordan

Most other countries are open with restrictions - usually meaning you must be vaccinated or prove your Covid infection status.

Some countries remain closed to UK travelers, including:

  • Kazakhstan
  • China
  • Mongolia
  • Turkmenistan
  • Iraq
  • Syria
  • Yemen
  • Libya
  • Western Sahara
  • Guinea
  • Liberia
  • Cameroon
  • French Guiana
  • Papua New Guinea
  • Equatorial Guinea
  • New Zealand
  • Japan
  • North Korea
  • Vietnam
  • Myanmar
  • Malawi
  • New Caledonia
  • Eswatini
  • Lesotho
