• Jess Cartner-Morley (Farewell, sweet floral midi. Hello, breezy trouser suit, 31 March) and John Lewis are not usually wrong when it comes to fashion. But in the case of the demise of the floral midi dress, I believe they are. On a hot day you need to wear something cool and floaty, not a trouser suit, even a loose one. I have plenty of floral midi dresses that I will continue to wear. For those of us not living in London, nothing is ever “over”.
