When will Bryce Harper play for the Phillies in spring training?

Bryce Harper arrived in Clearwater, Florida, last Friday to join Phillies camp after signing a colossal $330 million deal, and the former Nationals star says it’s going to take him a while to adjust to his new surroundings.

Harper accidentally said he hopes to championship to D.C. in his introductory press conference, though he also reportedly referred to Philadephia as the greatest city in the world in a recruiting pitch to star running back Le’Veon Bell.

So when will Harper take the field for the first time wearing No. 3? According to Phillies manager Gabe Kapler, Harper will be in the lineup on Saturday, March 9th, to face the Toronto Blue Jays as a designated hitter. Saturday’s game is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. ET.

Via Philly.com:

“I just want to see pitches. It doesn’t matter who it’s from or anything like that. So I just want to see that and see rotation, feel what it feels like to be in my cleats today and be on the grass and just be out there.”
