When Pedro Porro's £39m Tottenham transfer officially goes through and full breakdown of deal

Pedro Porro will soon become a permanent addition to the Tottenham Hotspur squad and the details of his near £39m move have already been revealed by Sporting.

The Spaniard made the move in January on loan to Spurs and has already had four different managers at the club since arriving from the Portuguese side. football.london reported earlier this week that his new head coach Ange Postecoglou is understood to like Porro as a player and the two men are both represented by the same agency in Base.

When Porro joined Tottenham the north London club made it clear that the 23-year-old was arriving on loan "with an obligation to make the deal permanent in the summer". His parent club Sporting made the full details of the deal very clear, including the finances involved in a transfer that will cost Spurs £38.6m in total, and when that obligation will kick in within an official statement.

"Sporting SAD reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for the temporary transfer of player Pedro Porro, until the end of the season 2022/2023, for the sum of 5m euros," it read.

"The agreement includes the option to permanently acquire the player's sporting rights, by the amount of 40m euros, which can be exercised by Tottenham or by Sporting with effect from the 1st of July 2023 and consequent definitive assignment of the player to Tottenham.

"The value of the solidarity mechanism due to third-party clubs will be supported by approximately 95% by Tottenham."

The statement also detailed the money going to intermediaries involved in the deal and also that Tottenham had thrown in part of their rights to a future cut in the sale of former academy player Marcus Edwards, who Sporting signed from Vitoria.

"The costs with the intermediation services related to the aforementioned transfer amount to 427,220 euros, to which will be added the amount of 2,383,780 euros in case of transfer of the player permanently," read the statement.

"At the same time, Tottenham ceded to Sporting the absolute percentage of 15% of the rights and economic factors related to the player Marcus Edwards."
