When is Wednesday coming to Netflix? First look at new Addams Family cast

Netflix has finally released a trailer for the new Addams Family series Wednesday. It comes after the streaming platform shared a black and white picture of the cast, including Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley on social media earlier this week teasing the new series.

The image also includes 19-year-old actress Jenna Ortega (Scream, You) who will star in the title role as Wednesday Addams. In the first look of the new series, Jenna can be seen with Wednesday's iconic look with braided hair, pale skin and a black dress with a white collar and cuffs.

The eight-part "twisted" season is from famous director Tim Burton, who is best known for Edward Scissorhands, the 2005 version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Batman. Netflix has teased the plot saying: "The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy.

"Wednesday's attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore."

But when will you be able to watch Wednesday on the streaming platform? Here are all the details we have so far:

When is Wednesday coming to Netflix?

Netflix announced on Wednesday (August 17) that the series would be released in the Autumn - but an exact date is yet to be confirmed. There will be eight episodes to the series when it drops on the streaming platform.

The trailer, which was shared on Netflix's social media pages on Wednesday (August 17), has given a good glimpse into what viewers can expect from the series. At the start of the two-minute teaser Wednesday Addams can be seen walking through Nancy Reagan High School as the voice-over says how she has been in eight schools in five years.

She is then seen terrorising students in the pool after being called a "freak" and warning them she is the only one allowed to "torture" her brother. Catherine Zeta-Jones (The Darling Buds of May, Red 2 and Ocean's Twelve) and Luis Guzman (Shameless, Narcos, Journey 2) are then seen in the back of a car, telling Wednesday she will "love" Nevermore as they head to the academy.

But will Wednesday fit in with her fellow spooky classmates and will she manage to make some friends? We'll just have to watch the series to find out.

Wednesday comes to Netflix this Autumn.
