When is the Fifa World Cup 2026 final?

Defending champions Argentina will play Spain in the World Cup final on Sunday.

2010 champions Spain booked their spot in the decider after beating France in the first of two epic semi-finals in Dallas on Tuesday evening.

Then, Lionel Messi’s Argentina produced a stunning late comeback from behind to defeat England in Atlanta and keep their dream of back-to-back titles alive.

The World Cup has not been defended since Brazil in 1958 and 1962, while Argentina v Spain is also a first-time World Cup final.

For both teams, a shot at World Cup glory aways on Sunday.

When is the World Cup final?

The final will take place at the New York New Jersey Stadium on Sunday 19 July at 8pm (BST), 3pm (ET).

The match will be shown live in the UK on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, ITV1 and ITVX.

Who will be the competing teams?

Defending champions Argentina will take on European champions Spain.

What about the entertainment?

The final will be the first in World Cup history to have an official half-time show.

Madonna, Shakira, Justin Bieber, Burna Boy, BTS, Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus will feature in the 11-minute show, curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay (who will also feature).

There will also be a Closing Ceremony before the match begins, which starts at 6:30pm (BST), 1:30pm (ET), 90 minutes before kick-off.

Tom Cruise, Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, Robbie Williams and IShowSpeed are among the acts set to perform as part of the show.

What about the third-place play-off?

The contest nobody wants to play in, the third-place play-off, takes place on Saturday 18th July at 10pm (BST), 5pm (ET) at the Miami Stadium in Florida. It will be England v France.
