The August Bank Holiday is just around the corner and it's the perfect time to make plans.
Although we've worked our way through most of this year's public holidays, there's still another blissful bank holiday weekend to look forward to this summer.
If you're lucky enough to be off work, you'll be enjoying a three-day weekend in just under two weeks' time.
When does the August Bank Holiday fall?
Like the other summer public holidays, the August bank holiday will fall on the first Monday of the month, making it August 5 this year.

Will all businesses be closed?
We have nine public holidays in Ireland every year, and on these days most businesses and schools will close.
Not all businesses close for the bank holiday but some will operate with Sunday hours, for instance shopping centres and supermarkets.
Some shops will close earlier than normal on the bank holiday so don't get caught out and check opening and closing times in advance.
Will public transport operate on the bank holiday?
Most public transport services will operate on the August bank holiday but often with restricted hours/Sunday service.
Before setting out on a journey, check if your bus or train is operating a bank holiday timetable.

Am I entitled to a paid holiday?
Most employees are entitled to paid leave on public holidays but there are some exceptions.
If you qualify for public holiday benefit, you are entitled to either a paid off or one of the following:
- An additional day of annual leave
- An additional day's pay
- A paid day off within a month of the public holiday
