When is Strictly on BBC this week? Tess Daly announcement angers fans as show moved again

For the second week in a row, the BBC has confirmed that Strictly Come Dancing won't air on a Saturday night, with Tess Daly's announcement on the semi final being next Sunday not going down well with viewers.

There was a scheduling change for Strictly fans to get their heads round last week, when the quarter final was moved from Saturday to Friday, to allow the BBC to air live coverage of the World Cup knock out game between Argentina and Australia. That move did not go down well with many viewers who claimed it felt 'wrong' that the live show was on a day earlier.

Last weekend's Strictly result show, which was actually recorded on Friday night, went out at the much earlier time of 5.40pm on Friday evening, after the previous week's results were moved to an different time slot for a World Cup tie.

Just a week after they were forced to miss a show due to Covid, Kym and Graziano lost out to Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu in the dance-off last week. And right before they did their farewell dance, Tess revealed to millions of viewers at home that the Strictly semi final won't air next Saturday. Instead it will be on Sunday, December 11 at 7.15pm.

As credits rolled on Saturday's results show, Strictly's Twitter account then had a further update for fans, revealing that the results show for the semi will be on Monday, December 12.

The news quickly became a big talking point, with one critic blasting: "Cancel the World Cup. Next week I’m going to have to watch the Strictly results on a MONDAY," with another tweeting: "strictly on a monday feels illegal."

And what has annoyed Strictly lovers even more is that the BBCC aren't even showing England v France on Saturday night, with ITV instead airing the crunch quarter final tie.
