When is ITV2's summer Love Island 2023 due to start and who are the rumoured contestants?

The UK's most popular dating show is set to grace TV screens once again later this year with fans geared up to watch another line-up of Insta-ready singletons looking for love under the sun. With summer just around the corner, the hit ITV2 reality TV series is expected to return in a few weeks time - sure to be full of more secret snogs and drama.

The latest winter series ended back in March. Based in South Africa, the season saw loved-up couple Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan bag the £50,000 cash prize thanks to the public vote after finding each other during Casa Amor.

And it won't be too long before fans of the show will be ready to watch it all over again as this year's summer edition will be heading back to Majorca soon enough. The Mirror has given the low-down on all there is to know about the upcoming series so far - including launch date, who the host is, rumoured line-up and changes to the iconic villa.

When will it start?

According to reports, Love Island will be making a comeback on Monday, June 5. It is expected to last for eight weeks.

Previous seasons of the show have typically begun around the first week of June, leaving viewers thinking it will be the same again this year. Speaking to The Sun back in April, one source claimed that the start is indeed June 5 and that the contestants had already been picked.

Who will be the host?

The last series of Love Island saw Maya Jama make her debut as host. and it would seem will be returning this series She was chosen for the presenting role after ex host Laura Whitmore stood down from her duties on the dating show last year - after three years.

Many viewers were pleased when Maya was announced as the new presenter following Laura's exit. She also joined regular panellists Indiyah Polack and Sam Thompson for Love Island After Sun - the spin-off programme where they discuss all that's been going on in the villa.

In March, Maya shared behind-the-scenes photos from the show on Instagram, writing: "[I had the] best time ever [and I] can't wait to do it all over in the summer".

Who is taking part?

Although the line-up for summer 2023's edition has not been officially announced yet, rumours are already doing the rounds. However, one singleton has already allegedly secured himself a spot.

As reported by the Mirror, economics graduate Andre Furtado is due to enter the villa. The 21-year-old, who hails from Dudley, is also a clothing brand entrepreneur and co-founder of Social Kids.

Speaking to the MailOnline, a source said: "Andre is the perfect Love Island signing… he's cool, calm, collected, and ready to mingle... He knows himself but without being arrogant and producers are hoping his intellect, as well as his creativity and handsome looks will make him a favourite among the females."

ITV said the villa line-up will be announced in due course, when contacted by the Mirror.

What will the villa be like?

The iconic accommodation in Majorca is said to be getting a makeover - including a new fire pit and decking around the swimming pool. Last month, the Mirror exclusively revealed that the summer 2023 Love Island villa is going green this year. Solar panels have been set up around the property in a bid to reduce the villa's carbon footprint.
