When is it going to stop raining in Greater Manchester?

Greater Manchester has seen its fair share of wet weather this week.

A yellow warning of rain has been in place as much of the region was hit with heavy rain overnight and into Thursday morning.

Flash flooding hit areas of Tottington and Walshaw in Bury, after heavy rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon.

Footage shared on social media showed a large stream of water gushing down Stormer Hill in Tottington.

Nearby streets, Bury Road and Turton Road were also left under several inches of water.

Trains were also halted due to landslips and some of the region's motorways were closed due to standing water.

But when is the rain expected to end?

A yellow weather warning of rain is expected to end at 9.00am today, but this doesn't mean we won't see anymore rain.

Showers are expected throughout the morning, which a break in the rain and possibly even some sunshine on Thursday afternoon.

But the wet weather is set to make a return on Friday morning, with showers heavy at times, especially in the afternoon.

It will feel breezy and chilly across Greater Manchester, with maximum temperatures of 10 degrees.

By Saturday, the picture is expected to change, with a return to sunnier and drier weather across the weekend.

Temperatures are set to rise a little to around 12 or 13 degrees, with lows of 7 degrees in the evenings.
