When is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever coming to Disney+

Marvel has confirmed the release date of the latest film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever finally comes to Disney+. The film was released in cinemas back in November 2022.

The sequel to 2018’s Oscar-winning Black Panther sees fans being transported back to the secretive African nation of Wakanda, as the country’s leaders fight to protect their nation in the wake of King T'Challa's death, while a new enemy threatens their existence.

Marvel released a new poster for the sequel when confirming its release date, showing returning stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke and Danai Gurira alongside newcomer to the franchise Tenoch Huerta as the villainous Namor.

When is Black Panther: Wakanda Frover released on Disney+?

Marvel has confirmed that it will be making its debut on Disney+ on Wednesday, February 11. The film has a running time of two hours and forty one minutes.

With 82 days between the November 11 cinema release and February 1 Disney+ debut, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has broken the record for Marvel Studios' longest theatrical-to-streaming window since the creation of Disney's own platform.

The confirmed release date has become even more exciting for Marvel fans as Angela Bassett won the Golden Globe last night for her performance of Queen Ramonda in Black Panther:Wakanda Forever. This means the 64-year-old is the first actor to ever win a major individual acting award for a movie based on Marvel Comics.

During her acceptance speech, Bassett said that during filming, the cast “embarked on this journey together with love. We mourned, we loved, we healed. We were surrounded each and every day by the light and the spirit of Chadwick Boseman.”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever marks the first Black Panther film since the death of lead actor Chadwick Boseman, who died of cancer in 2020, aged 43.
