Emmanuel Fernandez has revealed when he first heard of Rangers' transfer interest in him, as the central defender opened up on his initial impressions of Russell Martin.
The 23-year-old penned a four-year deal at Ibrox after completing a £3 million move from Peterborough United.
"I think it was a couple of weeks ago I first heard about it, and to be honest, I was shocked," Fernandez told RangersTV.

"I was thinking that's a big club, they play in Europe, they have a great fanbase like I know. I've watched a lot of games, I've watched the Old Firm derby as well, and it's a place where I really wanted to be.
"To be given a four-year deal, that means there's trust. It's definitely a big stepping stone where I'm coming from, but I feel like this is the perfect place for me to be.
"I've spoken to the manager, he seems amazing, and he's going to help me in all types of ways, and the staff around seem amazing, so it's going to be very good.
"I can bring leadership qualities, I'm aggressive, I win the majority of my headers, and I can play as well. And I also score goals, and help keep a lot of clean sheets."
Fernandez became Rangers' fourth summer signing following the acquisitions of Lyall Cameron, Max Aarons and Joe Rothwell.
The club are also in advanced talks to sign Luton Town's Thelo Aasgaard, and lead the chase for the loan signature of Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Nasser Djiga.
