When could Covid postponed Bolton Wanderers home game vs Wycombe be rearranged for?

Bolton Wanderers now have a free weekend after the club's game against Wycombe was postponed.

A Covid-19 outbreak at Wanderers and positive tests within the squad have meant that the League One encounter at the University of Bolton Stadium has been called off.

It is far from the only game which has fallen victim to Covid-19 positive tests with matches up and down the English football pyramid for this weekend being called off as a result.

Other games in League One this weekend have been called off due to Covid problems, including Accrington Stanley's trip to Sheffield Wednesday due to a Covid outbreak in the Owls squad.

Gillingham hosting Crewe Alexandra has also been postponed in light of positive cases in the Gills squad.

Doncaster Rovers' trip to take on Lincoln City has also been postponed due to postive cases in the Rovers squad.

So when could Bolton vs Wycombe take place now, following this postponement?

As things stand, Wanderers have a free weekend at the start of January owing to not being involved in the FA Cup third round.

The home game that had been planned in League One against Cambridge United for that weekend has been rearranged for the start of February owing to the Us still being involved in the competition.

But that weekend of January 8 will not be an option for the fixture as the Chairboys are in League One action themselves already as they host Sunderland at Adams Park.

There are currently no other free Saturday slots for Wanderers between now and the end of the season, so a midweek slot looks the most likely solution after the postponement.
