When Arsenal will complete Kai Havertz transfer as medical date set for £65m deal

Kai Havertz's medical ahead of his £65million transfer to Arsenal will take place over the weekend, football.london understands.

The Gunners have agreed a deal with Chelsea for £60million plus £5million in add-ons for the 24-year-old. Havertz is expected to become Mikel Arteta's first signing of the summer transfer window.

Havertz has recently finished the final international period of the season with Germany, scoring in the 3-3 draw with Ukraine and starting in the defeats to Poland and Colombia.

The medical is likely to take place overseas and if all goes according to plan, the announcement is expected early next week.

Havertz will arrive at the Emirates Stadium on the back of a disappointing season with Chelsea, with Arsenal's London rivals finishing 12th in the Premier League table. The German international managed only nine goals in 47 appearances across all competitions, though was responsible for the most goals, shots on target, chances created, successful aerial duels, possession won in the final third and duels won, according to Squawka.

football.london understands Arteta was instrumental in convincing Havertz that his future would be better suited in north London. His versatility allows him to play in a number of positions including centre-forward or in midfield.
