It is an unprecedented time for both football and life in general as the outbreak of coronavirus has affected everyday life around the world.
Premier League football was put on hold at the start of the month after both Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta and Chelsea midfielder Callum Hudson-Odoi tested positive for the virus, both have now made a full recovery.
April 30 is the planned return date for fixtures, however, it is likely that that will be extended further.
As reported by football.london on Saturday, discussions are now underway on holding the remaining Premier League fixtures behind closed doors during four-to -six weeks in around July in order to finish the 2019/20 season before going pretty much straight into the 2020/21 campaign.
Further reports suggest that discussions are ongoing about a "World Cup style" plan where games will be played in neutral venues in the midlands and London, with teams isolated in hotels throughout the period.
This would mean that there would be more than one game a day, with all games being played behind closed doors but being shown on TV.
It is an idea that is said to be backed by the UK government in the hope that it will raise morale in the event of the lockdown being either extended or even tightened.
But, with the plans all involving games being played behind closed doors, when could fans be able to return to stadiums in order to cheer their team on from the terraces?
According to the Mirror, it could be as long as October 2020 before fans are allowed back into stadiums, meaning that the first few months of the 2020/21 campaign will also be played behind closed doors.
If that is to be the case, it means that fans may not see a live game in the flesh for up to seven months.
