When and where are the next Olympic Games? Dates for Paris 2024 plus 2028 and 2032 tournaments

The Tokyo Olympics has been a tournament like no other, with athletes having to compete with no fans or family cheering them on in person.

The Tokyo Olympic Games ends on Sunday, August 8 and athletes will soon have to decide if they wish to target the next Olympic Games.

The fact it is just three years away - due to the coronavirus pandemic postponing the Tokyo 2020 tournament by 12 months - may make it more enticing for athletes to target another Games.

Here are the details on the next Olympic Games.

When and where are the next Olympic Games?

The next summer Olympic Games will take place in Paris in 2024.

There are usually four years between the Games but as the 2020 event was pushed back a year there will be less time to wait for the next Games.

The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be the biggest event ever organised in France, taking place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.

The International Olympic Committee announced in December 2020 that the theme for Paris 2024 would be gender equality and youth participation, with the next games set to see an exact 50/50 gender split.

Where are the 2028 Olympic Games?

In 2028, the summer Olympic Games will be hosted by in Los Angeles, California, in America from July 21 to August 6, 2028.

Where are the 2032 Olympic Games?

In 2032, the summer Olympic Games will be held in Brisbane, Australia. It will mark the 34th Olympic Games since records began in 1886.
