WhatsApp is not working on a number of Apple and Android phones from today - here's how to fix it

WhatsApp is no longer working for thousands of Android and Apple users today.

More than 40 phones no longer support the messaging platform from November 1, Wales Online reports.

One way to fix the issue would be to upgrade your phone and it's worth trying to upgrade your operating system first - but older phones are unlikely to be compatible.

WhatsApp technical support reads: "WhatsApp will no longer support Android phones running OS 4.0.4 and older on November 1, 2021.

"Please switch to a supported device or save your chat history before then.

"WhatsApp for iPhone requires iOS 10 or newer.

"For the best experience, we recommend you use the latest version of iOS available for your phone."
