What you can do in Falkirk from Monday when lockdown is eased further

Many of us will be heading to beer gardens for a pint down our local on Monday for the first time this year.

It's as coronavirus restrictions ease further meaning the likes of pubs, restaurants and beauticians can re-open for business.

That is not all that will be easing as the limit of guests at weddings, funerals and wakes in Falkirk will increase.

So here is a look at what some of the changes from Monday April, 26 will bring:

1. Go shopping for a summer outfit - in a shop

The remaining retail sectors that have been closed are allowed to reopen. Social distancing and wearing a face mask still applies.

2. Have brunch IN a cafe

Restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars can reopen, but only for food and non-alcoholic drinks indoors. Venues must be closed by 8pm. A one metre social distancing requirement will be in place.

The maximum number of people who can meet indoors in public is 6, from no more than two households.

3. Get your eyebrows done

Hair removal, tattoo, piercing and body modification, fashion design, dress-fitting and tailoring, indoor portrait photography and massage therapies can also re-open in tier three provided they follow the safety guidelines.

5. Get a book from your library

Public buildings such as libraries or community centres can open to the public. When visiting you should comply with the physical distancing and hygiene measures in place. Anyone visiting a building will either be required by law to wear a face covering (unless exempt) or be advised to wear one.

6. Visit a museum

All indoor and outdoor visitor attractions such as museums, galleries, educational and heritage attractions, zoos and aquariums can open providing there are physical distancing and hygiene measures in place.

8. Celebrate a wedding with 50 people at the reception

Have you whittled down the list? Wedding receptions and post-funeral gatherings (such as wakes) can take place in tier 3, with a maximum capacity of 50 people.

9. Go to the gym

We can finally return to the gyms and work off the damage the last three weeks has done to our waistbands.

10. Get a pint in a beer garden

Much of the discourse in the last few weeks has been the chat around beer gardens. Whether or not you are partial to a pint or two (or three, or four), the beer gardens will undoubtedly be where the best atmosphere will be found next week.
