Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas insists that he does not want to see Mauricio Pochettino leave the club after the 3-0 defeat at Brighton only served to put further pressure on the Argentinian.
Spurs lost their third match of the 2019/20 Premier League season on Saturday afternoon as Brighton cruised to a comfortable victory thanks to Neal Maupay's opener and a brace from Aaron Connolly either side of the break.
Tottenham were already low on confidence thanks a 7-2 hammering at home to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
Hugo Lloris' mistake which led to Maupay's opener at Brighton made sure Spurs started the contest on the wrong foot, before the goalkeeper was stretchered off with a serious injury suffered in the aftermath of the goal.
Jenas was quick to question Pochettino's situation at the club post-match but he also insisted that he firmly believes that Spurs back him through these tough times.
"The new manager scenario at most places can be a quick fix. That's the type of situation at a football club when the players need to hear a new voice. There are parts of Spurs' play which signal that," Jenas told BT Sport.
"But there is no doubt in my mind that Mauricio Pochettino is one of the best coaches in Europe. He has proven that for a number of years at Tottenham.
"I hope they sort it out because he's a top manager and I don't see where else he goes. Something has to change, hopefully it's the players' mentality and not the manager."
