What to know about the 2026 Winter Paralympics opening ceremony

  • The Winter Paralympics opening ceremony is taking place on March 6.
  • It is taking place at the Verona Olympic Arena, northern Italy.
  • UK viewers can watch the ceremony on Channel 4 from 6.30pm GMT, while US viewers can watch it on NBC from 1.30pm ET.
  • Friday’s opening ceremony will mark the return of Russian and Belarusian flags on the sporting stage for the first time since the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
  • The UK government will boycott the event as a result, saying they “strongly oppose” the IOC’s decision.
