What to Expect From Charter Communications' Q3 2025 Earnings Report

Charter Communications, Inc. (CHTR) operates as a broadband connectivity and cable operator company serving residential and commercial customers. Valued at $36.4 billion by market cap, the company offers cable broadcasting, internet, voice, and mass media services. The broadband giant is expected to announce its fiscal third-quarter earnings for 2025 before the market opens on Friday, Oct. 31.

Ahead of the event, analysts expect CHTR to report a profit of $9.61 per share on a diluted basis, up 9% from $8.82 per share in the year-ago quarter. The company beat the consensus estimates in two of the last four quarters while missing the forecast on two other occasions.

For the full year, analysts expect CHTR to report EPS of $38.71, up 10.7% from $34.97 in fiscal 2024. Its EPS is expected to rise 12.1% year over year to $43.39 in fiscal 2026.

CHTR stock has significantly underperformed the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX14.7% gains over the past 52 weeks, with shares down 20.3% during this period. Similarly, it considerably underperformed the Communication Services Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLC) 26.7% uptick over the same time frame.

CHTR's shares plummeted 18.5% on Jul. 25 following its mixed Q2 earnings report. Despite a slight top-line growth of $13.8 billion, beating consensus estimates, concerns arose from a substantial drop of 117,000 internet customers. Its commercial revenue growth was offset by a decline in residential revenue, driven by lower video and voice sales. Furthermore, net income per share of $9.18 missed Wall Street estimates by 8.7%, exacerbating investor concerns.

Analysts’ consensus opinion on CHTR stock is reasonably bullish, with a “Moderate Buy” rating overall. Out of 25 analysts covering the stock, 12 advise a “Strong Buy” rating, nine give a “Hold,” and four advocate a “Strong Sell.” CHTR’s average analyst price target is $371.33, indicating an ambitious potential upside of 40.4% from the current levels.
