What to expect at Glasgow’s Scottish Wedding Show this weekend

Scotland’s biggest wedding show is returning to the SEC this weekend, and there’s plenty on offer for prospective brides and grooms.

Hundreds of exhibitors will be under one roof, as well as the annual catwalk show - showcasing the finest in bridal couture and outfits for friends and family. With plenty of inspiration for your wedding day, it’s not to be missed.

Over on the Q&A stage, Let’s Talk Tying the Knot will host a curated programme of talks covering various aspects of wedding planning and the day itself. With industry experts, trendsetters and more, it could help you speed the process along.

Throughout the weekend, various bands will be performing in the live showcase - the perfect opportunity to see artists in action and consider what you want for your special day. For couples looking for a more unique wedding, the Field of Dreams area will showcase ‘out of the box’ options - including llama wedding guests and bouncy castles for your guests.

At the cocktail bar, Manorview Hotels & Leisure Group will be serving up bespoke cocktails, wines, champagne and much more.

Organisers say the event, which has been running in Glasgow since 2002, brings together the country’s top wedding suppliers under one roof and is the place to be for couples from all over the country.

Tsitsi Lynn Makuni, Show Manager, said: “We can’t wait to welcome all the newly engaged couples to the SEC this weekend and get them inspired for their big day.

“With new and returning suppliers coming together, it’s bound to be a show to remember.”

Elaine Donegan, Owner at Wedding Wise Bridal in Barrhead, added: “After the past two years of restricted celebrations, we’re thrilled weddings are back and can’t wait to attend the Scottish Wedding Show this weekend to show off all our new season dresses.

“Events like this provide a wonderful opportunity for businesses in the industry to come together and celebrate the fantastic services we offer in Scotland, and we can’t wait to help more brides say yes to the dress in 2022.”

On Saturday and Sunday, the event will be running from 10am until 5pm. In addition to this across both days, the catwalk will be happening at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

All tickets must be purchased online, which can be done here.
